If you’re itching for a new look and feel for your WordPress site, you’re not automatically locked in to a complete site design overhaul. You have options.
I have a perfect example of this to share with you via my friend, Patsi Krakoff. She asked me to create a new header for her site. Here it is, as it was:

She had had lovely new pictures of herself taken and wanted to use one of them. So, she sent me her favorites and gave me a few wording changes and turned me loose. (Love that, btw. It’s great, as a creative person, to be given a short list of “must haves” and then be turned loose to let my creative juices flow! Thank you, Patsi, for that freedom!)
So, I created a few variations for her to choose from. She chose her favorite (which also happened to be mine – yay! Love it when that happens!) and gave me a couple of minor tweaks she’d like to see made.
One of those tweaks was to lose the lime green used on the line containing her name, but she wasn’t sure what she wanted to use instead. I suggested we pull in the blue that her site was using for post titles. I told her if she also changed the background of her site to the blue, she’d have a whole new lookin’ site on her hands.
So, that’s what we did:

Beautiful! Amazing what a new header and one color change can do for a site, eh?!
